Andrew:
So here I am in my hotel room in Cusco, Peru. If there is something I have learnt in the past 8 months of travel it's that your alone time is sacred. I decided this is as good as a time as any to get this whole blog thing going. Hands on the keyboard... eyes at the screen.... nothing. I quickly remember why I hate typing. So many ideas I don't even know where to start. Perfect, let that be the starting!
I never understood the concept of a blog. The goal is to get people reading these things but there are so many hurtles to this concept. The biggest of them all would be my spelling. My horrible spelling. I'm tossing this up to the fact that I had no English class till grade 6, a simple fact of going to a French school. But in any other case here I am writing away.
Enough time wasted.
So here we are at the beginning of our journey. Looking ahead we have many extremely daunting tasks we need to accomplish before we head out on our maiden voyage.
- Find an appropriate project to join that will allow us to be associated with them
- Raise enough funds to not make me go bankrupt trying to make this all a reality
As easy as this sounds it is far from it seeing today’s economic conditions. But will we let a lack of funds stop us from continuing? No. The fact is that like anything that starts off there are always risks. A risk that I am willing to jump in to headfirst. The fact is that the feedback I have received has been great. People have shown interest in doing future projects as long as the first one is a success. No pressure. I will not watch for milk that has yet to be spilled.
Game on.
If there was one thing I could ask of every one it would be this, spread the word. We do not need money from every one, we do not need every one to donate items, all we need is for people to watch. With viewership comes sponsorship, that is how we could really start funding some amazing projects. So lets do it. Let’s launch this thing and start something big. 2 minutes of your day is all we can ask for and that alone can get the gears in motion to start something that will do this world some good.
In the mean time buy some one a coffee today as a good gesture. A little effort goes a long way
