Indonesia or bust
I’m currently 32000 feet in the air over the arctic, on my way to one of the hundreds of islands off the coast of Indonesia. This is my last shoot for Vanishing world and man have I seen a lot. I’ve seen the desert of the Kalahari and hiked the hills of Papua New Guinea. It seems to have all built up to this final episode as we are embarking our last adventure in what has been told to me by Les is one of the most dangerous jungles we could possibly step foot in, and I forgot my gloves. This has some bad potential all of a sudden.
Lot’s has developed in the past 6 days and boy where they a torrent of activity. On one hand a sigh of relief… we got it. Our first location! The people at Long Way Home have really been great. Aaron, the coordinator I’ve been corresponding with has been nothing short of a pleasure. It’s exciting to think of the adventure that will follow. I know it is nothing new to travel to Guatemala from North America but I still think it is going to be hilarious to see the group of us do it with the added concern of bringing all the donations.
The to do list is still rather daunting. We have a lot to do and when I get back home just 1 month to do it. The interesting part is going to be us all living together basically for 2 month. I really do not think I could be doing it with any other people. But if there is one thing I keep thinking about. It’s the fact that I still have a lot to do and very little time to do it.
But that’s ok.
I love a challenge
Andrew
